To’A Nui Coral Nursery and the Bora Bora Pearl Beach Resort & Spa, a Member of the Leading Small Hotels of the World
Papeete, Tahiti – Bora Bora Pearl Beach Resort & Spa, a member of the Leading Small Hotels of the World, continues its ongoing commitment to the island’s ecosystem through a new “Coral Fare” facility that allows guests to have a hands-on experience in further preserving the surrounding coral reefs.  The “Coral Fare” provides a unique display area for diving in and discovering To’A Nui, the resort’s coral nursery, and the coral conservation public awareness program.

The resort’s coral nursery project was started in 2001, and has welcomed more than 70 types of fish that have made a home among the 4000 coral colonies that have been collected and preserved in the resort’s lagoon.   In an effort to further develop the rescue
program, the “Coral Fare” offers a variety of activities that guests can choose from to help maintain and expand the nursery.

The Coral Colony Sponsorship allows guests to choose a young coral colony to place within the nursery with assistance from an expert, which will be documented with a photo and certificate of sponsorship.  The Biorock Sponsorship expands the resort’s biorock implantation program by providing guests the opportunity to preserve a biorock with their family name, which will be permanently bound to the rock through a natural calcifying process.

In addition, guests can participate in a Saving Coral Colonies tour that takes participants to the donor reef to collect specimens to bring back to the resort to place within the nursery.  This tour provides a more in-depth introduction into the overall rescue program.  Finally, the expert staff can join guests on a snorkeling excursion through the coral nursery, as well as offer an FM snorkel to provide an underwater soundtrack for the up close marine exploration.
